DBO ninth professional bout was in the final of the Ultimate Boxxer tournament against former Southern-Area Champion and English Title Challenger Grant Dennis. In what was a high-pace contest the opening bell, DBO was busier and more aggressive in the opening round stating his intent to take control of the bout. The high pace continued into the second round and Dennis appeared to be slowing up. Wanting to take Dennis into deep waters, DBO maintained his terrific work rate throughout the round and looked the much fresher fighter heading into the final round. DBO would continue his aggressive work rate in final round of the tournament in which DBO would land a heavy right uppercut followed by a combination that would drop Dennis and stamp his authority on the contest. The final events of the fight saw DBO awarded the majority decision to become the Ultimate Boxxer III Middleweight Champion, winning three fights in one night.

DBO eighth professional bout was in the semi-finals of the Ultimate Boxxer prizefighter tournament against Kieron Conway. In what proved to be a close, cagey affair, DBO’s aggressive front foot pressure and higher work-rate would deservedly earn him a split-decision points victory.

Opponent #7: Tey Lynn-Jones

DBO seventh professional bout was in the quarter-finals of the Ultimate Boxxer prizefighter tournament against former Southern-Area Champion, Tey Lynn-Jones. DBO dominated from the first bell clearly winning the first round in which Jones would sustain a cut over his right eye. DBO would go on to drop Jones with a counter overhand right early in the second round. DBO coasted through and controlled the third round to see out a points win of 29-27 on all three judges scorecards.

Opponent #6: Callum Ide

Result:  Win by Pts

DBO sixth professional bout was against Callum Ide after a late replacement of opponent. DBO would dominate the fight winning every round, staggering Ide in the 4th round. Referee Kieran McCann would award every round to DBO, scoring the contest 40-36.

Opponent #5: Harry Matthews

DBO Fifth professional bout was against the very experienced Harry Matthews, who has shared the ring with top fighters such as Chris Eubank Jr and Jamie Cox. DBO set a fast pace from the first bell landing a series of power shots which ultimately caused a cut on Matthews’ left eyebrow in the first round. DBO would continue to dominate the fight, staggering Matthews with a right hand in the second round. Referee Lee Cook would award every round to DBO, scoring the contest 40-36.

Opponent #4: Liam Hunt

Result:  Win by PTS

DBO fourth professional bout was in the away corner against Liam Hunt who had a winning record of W6-L1-D1. Osaze started the fight extremely fast putting Hunt under immense pressure for the whole round, in which Hunt would manage to survive. Osaze would continue to dominate the rounds thereafter despite Hunt’s attempt to make a spirited comeback. Osaze would undoubtedly claim the points decision win. This was a fantastic contest, that received a standing ovation from the crowd and was declared the ‘fight of the night’.

Opponent #3: Jacob Lucas

Result:  Win by KO, Round 1

DBO third professional opponent was Jacob Marcus. The fight lasted only 68 seconds as DBO started the contest in blistering pace landing many heavy shots but it would be a vicious uppercut that would floor Lucas. Unable to beat the referees count, DBO recorded his first stoppage as a professional

Opponent #2: Victor Edagha

Location: Camden Centre, London

Result:  Win by PTS

DBO second professional opponent was the Italian born Victor Edagha. Despite Edagha propensity to hold and spoil to evade Derrick’s power shots, It was another dominant win for Derrick, winning every round convincingly, in a contest that would see Edagha touch the canvas twice, with the referee overruling the ringside officials opinion and not scoring them as official knockdowns.

DBO made a very impressive start to his professional career, by a dominant unanimous points decision win over the durable more experienced Callum Ide. Taking control from the first bell, winning every single round.
